About the Role

Musaffa is seeking a Lead Data Engineer & Scientist to architect data infrastructure, develop AI-driven investment models, and drive strategic data insights. This is a foundational leadership role with a clear path to becoming Head of Data & AI, offering the opportunity to build and lead our data strategy and team.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Infrastructure

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data pipelines to process financial and user data.
• Develop and manage data lakes, warehouses, and ETL workflows to support AI and analytics.
• Optimize real-time data processing for halal investment screening and market intelligence.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with Shariah-compliant financial standards.

AI-Driven Investment Screening & Market Analytics

• Develop machine learning models to automate Shariah-compliant stock screening and financial risk assessments.
• Work closely with Shariah scholars and finance experts to enhance AI-driven compliance solutions.
• Implement predictive models for market trend forecasting, portfolio optimization, and investor insights.

User Analytics & Growth Optimization

• Leverage data science & behavioral analytics to improve user engagement, retention, and premium subscription adoption.
• Develop AI-driven personalized investment recommendations to enhance user experience.
• Implement strategies to track and reduce churn rates while increasing investor participation.

Market Trend Analysis & Risk Modeling

• Implement AI-based risk assessment models tailored for Islamic finance markets.
• Build tools to monitor global halal investment trends, stock movements, and macroeconomic indicators.
• Refine quantitative models to enhance data-driven investment decision-making.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, and AI, preferably within fintech or financial services.
• Expertise in Python, SQL, machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn), and big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Snowflake, Redshift).
• Strong experience in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and scalable data architecture.
• Hands-on experience in AI-driven financial modeling, investment analytics, and risk assessment.
• Previous experience in a startup or high-growth environment is highly preferred.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Finance, or a related field.
• A PhD in a relevant field is a plus but not required.
