Job summary

eBay is seeking a Software Engineer in Austin, TX to lead risk data solutions and guide a 6–8 person team. You will design, implement, and optimize data pipelines that support risk management, financial reporting, and cross-functional workflows across the company’s data platforms.

The role focuses on batch/ streaming pipelines, data lake integrations, and platform enhancements, with partial telecommuting within a commutable distance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with 5 years of experience in the offered role
• Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines and analytics platforms
• Strong knowledge of big data technologies and distributed systems

Responsibilities

• Lead and architect risk domain data solutions aligned with company processes and tools
• Lead a team of 6–8 to analyze requirements, design solutions, and oversee code reviews
• Develop and optimize data layers for risk management, including loss prevention and segmentation
• Design batch and streaming pipelines for data movement across cross-functional systems
• Enhance and maintain data processing platforms and scheduling workflows
• Build and operate an operations center for job status monitoring
