Job summary

Burtch Works seeks a hands-on Lead Data Engineer to help build enterprise data capabilities from the ground up. You'll drive critical initiatives like an Reltio MDM implementation and Google BigQuery adoption within a Microsoft-Azure environment, while shaping the data platform strategy.

This mostly remote role prefers NYC metro candidates and requires monthly travel to NYC office; contract-to-hire with permanent conversion for the right fit.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on data engineering experience leading enterprise-scale implementations.
• Hands-on experience with Master Data Management, preferably using Reltio.
• Experience designing data pipelines and analytics on Google BigQuery.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle databases and Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Proficient in SQL and Python or other scripting languages.
• Ability to lead while contributing technically in a greenfield environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of the Reltio MDM platform.
• Architect and implement Google BigQuery core data platform.
• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across Oracle, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Serve as technical lead, perform code reviews, mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Establish data engineering standards and reusable frameworks.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and security.
