Job summary

itD is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to build and modify high-complexity data pipelines, monitoring, and alerting systems supporting a legal-focused infrastructure team.

The role emphasizes SQL, Python, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing, with leadership of cross-functional projects and a focus on privacy and security. Remote work is supported, with preference for California-based candidates and occasional onsite in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Expert-level SQL experience with relational or distributed engines.
• Expert-level Python programming experience.
• Experience building and managing ETL/data pipelines using Airflow or similar.

Responsibilities

• Build and modify high-complexity ETL and data pipelines from large datasets.
• Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for data and infra issues.
• Design data warehousing solutions and optimize queries for large-scale processing.
• Collaborate with attorneys, data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to align data requirements.
• Lead end-to-end data engineering initiatives across cross-functional teams.
• Identify data and system issues early and improve reliability and visibility.
• Communicate technical concepts and project status clearly to diverse audiences.
