Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking a hands-on Lead Data Engineer to architect and deliver enterprise-grade data and AI products supporting an executive intelligence platform. You’ll mentor engineers, drive data product production, and ensure reliability, governance, and cost discipline across the stack.

You will design and operate Databricks pipelines, manage data ingestion, and collaborate across data science, product, DevOps, security, and business teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Strong Python, PySpark, and SQL skills for building data pipelines.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring engineers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, test, deploy, and operate Databricks pipelines and Delta tables.
• Lead data architecture, code reviews, and mentoring with CI/CD practices.
• Integrate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Develop production AI workflows with robust governance and observability.
• Optimize compute and storage costs and ensure data quality and lineage.
