Job summary

JPMorganChase’s Infrastructure Data Platforms team seeks a Lead Data Engineer (Forward Deployed) to embed with infrastructure product teams and turn current asset and configuration data into trusted data products powering security controls and enterprise analytics.

You will partner with compute, network, storage, and cloud teams to close data visibility gaps, define data contracts, and establish data quality and lineage to support governance across the firm.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on data engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on data engineering experience spanning data modeling, data pipeline development, and data quality engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with ability to build reliable, testable data transformations.
• Experience diagnosing data quality issues and implementing controls to prevent recurrence.
• Experience working with partner teams and understanding infrastructure data domains.

Responsibilities

• Embed with infrastructure product teams to discover data sources, ownership, and quality gaps.
• Design and deliver integrations that publish governed data products into a data mesh.
• Establish data quality rules and monitoring at the source with durable fixes.
• Standardize data attributes across domains for reliable downstream consumption and policy enforcement.
• Define data contracts to reduce operational risk for dependent teams.
• Reconcile and certify infrastructure asset inventories to close gaps in security exposure.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and governance stakeholders on authoritative sources.
• Maintain metadata management practices to support auditability and transparency.
