Job summary

Archer, in collaboration with Telos, is seeking a Data Engineer to support classified networks from San Antonio, TX. The role emphasizes automation, robust data pipelines, and secure code practices within a DoD-aligned environment.

You will work with Python and SQL on sensitive systems, implement REST API integrations, and ensure code quality through testing and logging. Extensive travel is not expected, but some international travel may be required for assessments.

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Lead contributor to automation codebase.
• Ensure scripts are organized and version controlled.
• Establish Git workflows and coach juniors on modular code.
• Implements testing, logging, error handling, and data quality checks.
• Full-time data engineer with Python and SQL on classified networks.
• Package code for external teams working on similar problems.
• Track and implement codebase updates with lifecycle changes.
• Monitor pipeline health and diagnose failures; improve error handling.
• Mastery of using REST APIs with certificate-based authentication.

Responsibilities

• Acts as lead contributor to automation codebase
• Ensures scripts are organized and version controlled
• Establishes Git workflows and coach junior engineers on how to turn loose scripts into modular code
• Implements best practices for testing, logging, error handling, and data quality checks
• Full-time work experience as a data engineer using Python and SQL on classified networks
• Packages code to share with external teams working similar problem sets
• Tracks and implements codebase updates when language or utilities reach end of life
• Monitors pipeline health by diagnosing failures and improving code to handle exceptions
• Complete mastery of using REST APIs with certificate-based authentication

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, assessment, auditing, systems engineering, or cybersecurity compliance; or
• High school diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, systems engineering, auditing, compliance, or military service performing equivalent cybersecurity or information technology duties.
• Must possess and maintain a current DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III, Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level II, or higher certification (or successor DoD 8140 qualification requirements) prior to performance.
• Must be able to travel worldwide up to 30% in support of Government assessment, inspection, and compliance activities.
