Job summary

DriveCentric, Inc. seeks a Sr. Data Engineer, Team Lead for Store Launch in Saint Louis, MO. You will lead the Store Launch data engineering team responsible for onboarding and data import operations, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery for dealer launches.

You will guide engineers, own scheduling and dependencies, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet launch commitments while advancing data quality and process automation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing people, including hiring, coaching and performance reviews.
• 5+ years SQL/database development; 3+ years with T-SQL and SQL Server.
• Strong ETL experience and data import strategies.
• Experience with CRM/DMS systems and automotive dealership data.
• Hands-on coding in Python/PowerShell/C# and automation tooling.
• Ability to translate complex tech concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Calm under sustained pressure in a high-visibility role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Data Engineers, including contractors, with 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Run strategy sessions and guide day-to-day work, projects, and OKRs.
• Address performance issues directly; remove blockers and advocate for the team.
• Own delivery commitments across all imports and onboarding, forecast capacity.
• Ensure SLAs are met for onboarding and data investigations.
• Own data investigation triage and escalation model.
• Coordinate after-hours work to minimize store disruption.
• Stay hands-on with complex projects and guide technical decisions.
• Maintain code review standards and documentation quality across the team.
• Partner with Software Engineers on tooling and upskilling the team.
• Coordinate onboarding timelines with stakeholders and ramp-readiness for key accounts.
• Collaborate with Data Quality & Insights on handoffs and cross-team projects.
• Communicate status, risks, and dependencies to leadership.
