Job summary

Oliver Bernard is partnering with a leading technology consultancy to design an enterprise-scale, greenfield data platform for a UK sustainability organisation. We seek a Senior Data Architect to own the platform design from day one through implementation, with a roadmap that includes an AI and agentic layer on top.

You will design an end-to-end Azure-based data platform using Databricks and lakehouse architecture, define data governance and platform standards, and lead technical decisions with

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure and Databricks.
• Experience with data governance, lakehouse or medallion architecture is beneficial.
• Excellent communication with architecture to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

OB are currently partnered with a leading technology consultancy on a major greenfield data platform project for a UK sustainability organisation.

The project is already secured, and they're looking for a Senior Data Architect to take ownership of the platform design from day one through to implementation.

This is an opportunity to build an enterprise-scale data platform from scratch, with a future AI and agentic layer planned on top.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing an end-to-end Azure data platform using Databricks and modern lakehouse architecture.
• Defining data architecture, modelling, governance and platform standards.
• Working closely with engineering teams and senior client stakeholders.
• Leading technical decisions, whiteboarding solutions and overseeing implementation.

What we're looking for:

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure and Databricks.
• Confidence communicating architecture to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Location:

Fully remote, occasional UK client travel
