Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an experienced Lead Data Architect to define the Power & Energy data vision and standards. You will shape the data ecosystem, drive governance, and partner with the Lead Data Engineer to deliver scalable data solutions.

The role requires strategic thinking, data modeling expertise, and strong business engagement. Location options include East Peoria, IL or Mossville, IL, with five onsite days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or related field.
• Progressive experience in data, analytics, information architecture, or enterprise technology roles.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale data architecture initiatives across multiple domains.
• Deep expertise in data architecture, warehousing principles and data modeling (conceptual/logical/physical).
• Proven experience defining enterprise data strategies, roadmaps, standards, governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Map current-state data landscape and define future-state data architecture vision and roadmap.
• Build and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models with engineering teams.
• Provide oversight on end-to-end data solution design from ingestion to consumption.
• Ensure architecture decisions support performance, scalability, and extensibility.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships and translate business needs into data architecture solutions.
• Enforce alignment with data standards, governance, and security policies.
