Job summary

Humana in Frisco, TX, is seeking a Lead Data Architect to define and implement enterprise data strategy across Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, and related cloud services. You will translate business needs into scalable data architectures, lead API- and event-driven integrations, mentor engineering teams, and drive governance, security, and AI-enabled capabilities.

• Working knowledge of AI/ML and Generative AI architectures and their integration into enterprise platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive enterprise data, analytics, and architecture strategy across Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, and related cloud services.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available data platform solutions.
• Establish architecture standards, reference patterns, and best practices for data integration, governance, security, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Partner with engineering, product, business, governance, and security teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership for API, event-driven, and real-time integration architectures.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities, recommending solutions that deliver measurable business value.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide architectural oversight across strategic initiatives and platform investments.
• Drive architecture reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, compliance, and data governance standards.

The Lead Data Architect works in all data environments which includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation. The Lead Data Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. The Lead Data Architect responsible for developing blueprints for all data repositories, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems. Translates business needs into long‑term data architecture solutions. Defines, designs and builds dimensional database schemas. Evaluates reusability of current data for separate analyses. Conducts data sheering to rid the system of old, unused or duplicate data. Reviews object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$129,300 - $177,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
