Job summary

Caterpillar's Cat Digital is seeking a seasoned Data Architect to design enterprise-scale data architectures powering Caterpillar's digital ecosystem. You will lead end-to-end data architecture deliverables and collaborate with engineering and product teams to accelerate data value.

Based in Chicago or Peoria, IL, this onsite role offers a strong compensation package and benefits, with focus on cloud-based solutions, data modeling, and interoperability across platforms.

Qualifications

• Extensive data modeling experience.
• Experience designing/architecting cloud-based solutions (AWS or Azure).
• ETL knowledge preferred.
• Semantic modeling experience preferred.

What You Will Do:

• Participating in addressing business requirements for applications and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver digital and data solutions that meet business requirements.

What You Will Have:

• Data Architecture: Extensive knowledge of processes, techniques and factors that affect data architecture; ability to design blueprints on how to integrate data resources for business processes and functional support.
• Analytical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Effective Communications: Extensive experience in effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
• Requirements Analysis: Extensive knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non‑functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
• Target Architecture: Knowledge of target architecture; ability to develop the IT blueprint and roadmap while aligning the architecture and processes with business strategies and objectives.

This position will require up to 5% travel Summary Pay Range: $128,470.00 - $208,770.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
