Job summary

Citi is seeking a Data Analytics Lead Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data architectures within our Lending business, spanning Mortgage and Personal Loans.

This is a hands-on data engineering role where you will develop and maintain production-grade data systems - working across big data platforms, data lakes, and cloud infrastructure - that directly power lending analytics at scale.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience building and managing data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lake solutions.
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, PySpark, Databricks, Delta Lake, Hive, Impala, and Iceberg.
• Cloud data platforms like Snowflake and Cloudera for ETL and ingestion.
• Fluency in Python, Scala, or Shell scripting for data engineering tasks.
• Strong relational and non-relational data modelling and schema design.
• Workflow scheduling: Autosys or Apache Airflow.
• DevOps practices: version control, testing, monitoring, change management.
• Experience with Tableau or Cognos for data presentation.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and manage end-to-end data pipelines ingesting and delivering large-scale lending data.
• Design scalable cloud data architectures across data lakes, warehouses, and streaming environments.
• Architect data schemas to meet performance and business requirements.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for large datasets and distributed processing.
• Monitor data quality across pipelines and resolve operational issues.
• Apply generative AI tools to accelerate coding, querying, and data summarization where appropriate.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and governance teams to translate requirements into solutions.
