Job summary

The MITRE Corporation in Maryland is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Ft. Meade/Annapolis Junction cyber operations program.

You will lead engineers, decompose sponsor problems, and translate technical concepts into actionable deliverables in a fast-paced defense environment. The role requires strong systems engineering and cyber operations knowledge, an ability to work on-site in a SCIF, and a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience.
• Degree in computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, systems engineering, intelligence or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of systems engineering, mission engineering, cyber operations, intelligence support to cyber operations, or capability development.
• Track record of innovative thinking and problem-solving with a bias toward action in the cyber operations domain.
• Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• U.S. Citizenship and TS/SCI with CI polygraph clearance is required / highly desired.
• Hybrid onsite Fort Meade presence required with SCIF access and sponsor engagements.

Responsibilities

• Produce technical work products to include written reports, models, and system diagrams.
• Develop and/or engineer innovative cyber operations strategies, prototypes, TTPs.
• Communicate vision and strategy with MITRE leadership and government representatives.
• Collaborate with a team to implement strategy, TTPs, and transition prototypes.
• Research and leverage technology to improve operational outcomes.
