Clinical Surveillance offers Best in KLAS solutions that support clinicians such as pharmacists, infection preventionists, nurses, and physicians in finding the patients that need their attention most. The Lead User Experience Designer for Clinical Surveillance is responsible for architecting, in close working relationships with product management, technology, and clinical teams, a phenomenal user experience while delivering product features to meet market needs. The Lead is responsible for collaborating with the Product Manager to develop and execute on the long-term product strategy, and for collaborating with designers across multiple products to ensure consistency.
This role is responsible for developing and executing product design across multiple products. The Lead partners closely with with product managers to develop the product’s strategic vision, clinicians to ensure clinical validity, and development to build the product and deliver value. The Lead conducts user research, creates product designs, defines detailed product requirements, and collaborates with product development to deliver product enhancements in an agile development methodology.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Employ user centered design practices, including contextual inquiry, interviewing, concept testing, and other principles to create market-leading products that meet customer and WK business objectives
- Plan, organize, and conduct user research. Present results of research to project teams and management with findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with Product Manager to understand business needs and goals, develop product strategic plan, and break plan into deliverables that provide value to customers
- Create both system-level design architecture, as well as individual feature design
- Create high-quality user-friendly designs
- Provide design leadership and collaborate across teams to ensure design consistency for the products across all the portfolio
- Collaborate closely with product development teams to assess and execute on product requirements
- Create mockups and flow diagrams to effectively communicate design and feature ideas.
- Create detailed requirements documentation, including design mockups and user stories, to enable product development to correctly execute on product designs.
- Conduct customer beta testing of new features and new products
- Be autonomous. Make decisions, back them up, get them built.
- CSC markets products that are regulated by the FDA, and all positions within CSC are responsible for compliance with role-specific policies and procedures relating to regulated medical devices.
- Maintain awareness of and comply with all required policy and procedure for managing FDA regulated devices, and complete training in a timely manner upon any updates.
Qualifications
Education
- A bachelor's or master's degree in product design, graphic design, human-computer interaction, or a related field
Experience
- 7+ years of software product design experience
- A strong portfolio demonstrating user experience activities such as processes, approaches, and deliverables, as well as experience tackling complex problems with simple, elegant solutions.
- Experience setting long-term design strategy and leading design consistency across multiple products by collaborating with design team members
- Experience developing products in an agile methodology
- Experience with decomposing complex projects into stages that can be executed to deliver interim customer value
- Advanced skill with design tools, such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe CS, etc.
- Experience in healthcare industry not required, but preferred

- Data-Driven Design: Ability to use data and user research to inform design decisions and continuously improve products.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead projects from concept to delivery and ongoing improvement.
- Team player with the ability to interface and build relations at all levels
This position travels occasionally to conduct onsite contextual inquiry or customer feedback sessions, or for internal meetings. Regular recurring travel is not required.
