Job summary

Johnson County Government is seeking a Custodian Technician III to maintain clean, safe facilities across the county. This role supports supervisory staff and ensures daily cleaning tasks are performed to standard.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and custodial experience. You may be asked to work overtime, be on-call, and respond after hours to emergencies, with mandatory PPE and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years related custodial experience required.
• Must pass a thorough criminal history screening and have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• On-call/stand-by work required; overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates work tasks and schedules; supervises custodial staff in the supervisor's absence.
• Performs specialized floor cleaning tasks such as stripping, waxing, and buffing; maintains equipment.
• Maintains inventory control and notifies supervisor when items need re-order.
• Cleans and sanitizes toilets, urinals, sinks, and other surfaces; assists in recycling efforts.
• Completes and submits paperwork, timesheets, and equipment logs.
