Lead Custodian - (Senior Maintenance Technician) - Colorado Springs Airport - 2nd Shift

The Colorado Springs Airport is seeking a Lead Custodian to join their dynamic team! As a lead custodian, you will perform a variety of janitorial duties while assisting leadership by managing team scheduling, assigning duties, training, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Work Location: Colorado Springs Airport - 7770 Milton E Proby Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO 80916

Job Type: Full-time; 40 hours/week

Hourly Salary: $25.87 - $31.06 (including paid shift differential)

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift: 2:00PM - 10:30PM

Responsibilities:

• Assist in training new custodians on proper cleaning methods and procedures
• Oversee operations across all shifts at concourses and terminals
• Inspect custodial work, ensuring quality standards are met
• Maintain cleanliness and address safety and maintenance needs
• Perform cleaning duties: sweeping, mopping, waxing, scrubbing, vacuuming
• Sanitize bathrooms, clean windows
• Lift, move, and carry trash, supplies, and equipment over 50 pounds
• Manage cleaning supplies and equipment safely and efficiently
• Operate snowplow during seasonal weather
• Interact effectively with staff, management, and the public

Qualifications:

Knowledge of:

• Occupational hazards and safety practices
• Cleaning practices in high-traffic buildings
• Cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment

Ability to:

• Identify hazards and cleaning needs

Education and experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• Five years of custodial or related experience
• Valid Colorado driver’s license within 6 months of hire

Physical and Environmental Conditions:
