Job summary

The University of Iowa is hiring a Custodian II to provide a safe, clean, and healthy environment in residence halls. Under supervision, the role coordinates custodial activities, reviews assignments, and inspects outcomes to ensure service quality.

Responsibilities include front-line custodial work, scheduling, directing staff, and contributing to planning and efficiency improvements. Candidates must be able to move heavy objects, maintain records, and communicate professionally with the team

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow directions.
• Maintain and exercise confidentiality and professional communication.
• Knowledge and experience using computers, tablets, and related software.

Responsibilities

• Perform front-line custodial duties in residence halls.
• Develop work schedules and direct daily routines of custodial staff.
• Assist in planning procedures and improve efficiency of operations.
• Interview and assist in hiring custodial personnel as requested.
• Communicate with supervisor and staff; maintain records and inventory.
