Job description

JOB TITLE: LEAD CUSTODIAN

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF CUSTODIAL SERVICES AND BUILDING PRINCIPAL

Responsibilities:

1. Directly responsible to the Director of Custodial or his designee.
2. Assign crew personnel to jobs, order supplies, and maintain required records.
3. Review work requests or conditions for crew assignments, inventory, and supply actions on a routine basis.
4. Perform custodial duties including cleaning with regular and mechanical equipment, dust mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing floors, walls, and ceilings, replacing lamps, and wall-mounted fixtures, small furniture repairs, mowing/trimming grass, and snow removal as needed.
5. Perform custodial tasks in accordance with standard practices of the institutional housekeeping trade.
6. Perform all custodial and related duties in a conscientious and safe manner.

Qualifications:

Graduation from a general or technical high school or GED, with considerable experience in general institutional housekeeping, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have at least one year of custodial experience.
