Job summary

The State of Vermont is seeking a Custodian IV at the Waterbury State Office Complex. You will lead cleaning operations, train staff, and manage supply orders under supervision. This full-time role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions.

Candidates must have several years of custodial experience and a background check will be conducted. This position is part of the Buildings and General Services (BGS) team serving state agencies and departments.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years or more of building custodial work that included floor maintenance tasks such as stripping and waxing floors and carpet extraction, WITH at least one year as a lead worker or supervisor.
• Or three (3) years as a BGS Custodian II.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a lead and oversee cleaning operations across the Waterbury State Office Complex.
• Train new custodial staff as needed by the Custodial Supervisor.
• Order supplies and coordinate with staff for maintenance and project needs.
• Work alone or in teams on cleaning projects and perform duties outdoors in all weather.
• Must pass background checks and maintain good physical condition for ladder climbs and lifting up to 50 lbs.
