Lead Custodian - 2nd Shift - Truman Middle School

• Full-time position, 1:30pm - 10:00pm; 40 hours/week
• Schedule: 12 months, Monday-Friday
• Beginning hourly rate: $17.23 subject to experience
• Full benefits: medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement
• Non-exempt

Summary: Keeps the district's school buildings in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintaining floors; vacuuming, wet mopping, cleaning, stocking restrooms, dusting, disposal of trash and moving furniture/miscellaneous equipment as needed.
• Cleans and preserves designated spaces, equipment, etc. in the building.
• Manage a team of custodians within the building.
• Delegate cleaning responsibilities for staff.
• Assists visiting public utilizing the facilities.
• Set up & take down before‑during‑after school events (meetings, assemblies, athletic).
• Use of Follet‑Master Library Maintenance software for inventory, maintenance and activity schedules.
• Communicate with building ADMIN on specific needs within the building.
• Performs general maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
• Removes snow and ice from exterior entrances and walkways.
• Overtime on weekends as needed and schedule staff to meet event needs.
• Respond to both emergency and non‑emergencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
