The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Tampa

AdventHealth Tampa is a faith-based not-for-profit 626-bed tertiary-level acute care hospital located in Tampa, Florida. It specializes in advanced cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience, neurology, digestive health, orthopedics, women’s services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine, and general surgery including minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures. The hospital hosts GME programs in general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, and transitional year.

It is home to the AdventHealth Pepin Heart Institute, a leader in cardiovascular disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and research, serving Tampa Bay’s hearts for over 35 years. The Kiran C. Patel Research Institute at AdventHealth Tampa leads in clinical and academic research in neuroscience, cardiovascular medicine, and advanced surgery, contributing to future cures.

The role you’ll contribute:

Supervise daily operations in the CT department, ensuring smooth workflow and supply management within budget. Perform neuro and body scans following AdventHealth protocols, including complex 3D and CTA studies, and conduct QA audits. Use hospital performance improvement processes to enhance imaging services. Provide supervision, encourage employee engagement, and promote patient satisfaction initiatives. Establish and maintain ethical relationships with referring physicians, hospital staff, and external agencies. Meet with customers and partners to maintain service levels (Rounding). Participate in customer service excellence and uphold respectful relationships.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Perform exams on all patient types (IP, OP, ED) using AdventHealth protocols. Properly identify patients, educate them about exams, screen for contrast allergies, start IVs, and operate power injectors. Perform complex 3D and CTA studies.
  • Complete exams timely, maintain workflow, and minimize empty table time. Coordinate post-exam activities including patient transport and discharge. Monitor attendance and order supplies.
  • Operate all CT imaging equipment safely, including scanners, injectors, and monitors. Adapt protocols for patients of all ages. Serve as a clinical instructor.
  • Screen patients of childbearing age, minimize radiation exposure, and maintain a clean, organized, and stocked room. Perform QA on scanners, ensure daily compliance, and practice infection control and radiation safety standards.
