Job summary

Tufts Medical Center, Boston, MA seeks a full-time Lead CT Tech to join our radiology team. The role requires CAPABLE supervision, leadership, and extensive CT expertise to deliver high-quality imaging while ensuring patient safety and workflow efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in Radiology, ARRT CT certification, 5 years CT experience, and BLS. The facility offers a competitive pay range, a sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates, and a schedule of 36 hours

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiology or related field.
• Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT).
• CT Certification (ARRT) or (NMTCB).
• Radiologic Technologist state license eligible.
• Five (5) years of experience as a CT Technologist.
• Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform CT scans on assigned patients according to policy and radiological standards.
• Verify patient and procedure to be performed.
• Provide clear instructions to patients.
• Coordinate care with other departments for patient flow.
• Serve as clinical/technical expert for teaching students and supporting technologists.
• Ensure staff are assigned to rooms and all areas are covered.
• Verify imaging protocols, steps, and parameters for each patient.
• Ensure patient and staff safety for CT equipment.
• Obtain IV access and administer IV contrast.
• Participate in ongoing education and training.
• Perform quality control on equipment and devices.
• Communicate with staff to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain supply stock and request orders.
• Keep work areas clean and compliant with regulations.

Hours: 36 hours per week Minimum 4 days a week (Tuesday - Friday) (7a – 430p) (Would consider 8a – 530p) No Weekends, Limited on-call, Holiday shifts per department operations Location: Tufts Medical Center, Boston, MA

Job Overview

Perform Computed Tomography (CT) scan procedures on assigned patients according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital. Perform CT scan procedures that follow radiological standards in a safe, accurate and timely manner, meet the American College of Radiology (ACR) imaging standards and allow the radiologist and/or physician to make a radiological diagnosis. Responsible for designated areas and/or procedures as assigned. Work cooperatively within departments and other service lines to create a system of quality health care. Coordinate care, access, and support with other departments. Clinical and technical expert for teaching students and/or supporting all technologists. Daily operations first point of contact.

Duties and Responsibilities

7. 7. Verify and perform correct imaging protocol, step, procedures, and scanner parameters for each patient.
8. 8. Ensure patient and staff safety for CT equipment used.
9. 9. Ensure IV access has been obtained and administer IV contrast
10. 10. Participate in ongoing education and training.
11. 11. Perform quality control on equipment and devices as required.
12. 12. Communicate with other staff/departments to coordinate care of patients.
13. 13. Maintain supply stock and request stock to be ordered when necessary.
14. 14. Keep all work areas clean and functional according to DPH and The Joint Commission.

Physical Requirements

1. 1. Frequent standing, occasional sitting, walking, and lifting 30-35 lbs.
2. 2. Manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate radiology equipment.
3. 3. Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to perform examinations, observe patients, read monitors and documents, and hear audible equipment alarms.
4. 4. Exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases.
