Job description

UPMC is seeking a Lead CT Technologist to support the CT Scan department at UPMC Harrisburg.

Location: UMPC Harrisburg

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Days - Monday-Friday 8am - 4pm Rotating holiday and on-call required.

Purpose: In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, coordinates workflow, assists with projects and coordinates educational activities. Functions as a working technologist and distributes workload to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of advanced technologists and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
• Performs all responsibilities of CT Tech I and Advanced CT Tech II.
• Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary.
• Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
• Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
• Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.
