Job summary

PSA Airlines, a subsidiary of American Airlines, seeks a senior Crew Planning resource to guide day-to-day operations and develop team capability. You will provide technical leadership, coach planners, and resolve complex scheduling challenges for a safe, compliant, and efficient operation.

You will coordinate monthly activities, review plans for regulatory and contractual compliance, and identify opportunities to improve system usage, reporting, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years in airline Crew Planning, Crew Scheduling, Workforce Planning, or Crew Technology.
  • Experience with S3RUS, FLICA, IBS, and Crew Tracking system.
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; translate business processes into technical requirements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • English speaking/writing ability required.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical leadership to Crew Planners and support the Manager of Crew Planning in achieving team objectives.
  • Coordinate monthly crew planning activities including pairings, bid package development, line construction, bid processing, reserve planning, vacation bidding, training planning, and schedule supportability reviews.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex crew planning issues involving schedules, contracts, planning systems, bidding, training, and operational impacts.
  • Review planning solutions for compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, collective bargaining agreements, company policies, and planning standards.
  • Coach and develop Crew Planners through knowledge sharing, training, mentoring, and technical support.
  • Identify and drive efficiency opportunities to improve system utilization, automation, reporting, and cost efficiency.
  • Responsible for the Company's Safety Management System and associated outputs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
Position Summary

Serves as the senior resource for the Crew Planning team and provides day-to-day guidance, coordination, and support to Crew Planners. Assists in executing departmental priorities, resolving complex planning challenges, and developing team capability through coaching and training.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary escalation point for complex crew planning issues involving crew member schedules, contractual interpretation, planning systems, bidding processes, training requirements, and operational impacts.
  • Reviews planning solutions and recommendations to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, collective bargaining agreements, company policies, and established planning standards.
  • Coaches and develop Crew Planners through knowledge sharing, training, mentoring, and technical support to improve team capability and consistency
  • Identifies and drive efficiency opportunities to improve system utilization, automation, reporting, and cost efficiency.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Specifics
Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in airline Crew Planning, Crew Scheduling, Workforce Planning, or Crew Technology.
  • Exhibits a strong understanding of crew planning systems and tools such as S3RUS, FLICA, IBS, and Crew Tracking system.
  • Understanding of collective bargaining agreements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business processes into technical requirements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Aviation Management, Business Analytics, or related field.
Additional Information

Supervisory Responsibility: This is not a supervisory position.

Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Manager of Crew Planning.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
