Job summary

Swoon is seeking a Lead Crane Technician to oversee the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service of gantry cranes and intermodal material-handling equipment at customer sites across North America.

This is a field role—not a shop position—and requires traveling 80–90% (about 325 days per year) while serving as the technical lead on job sites.

Candidates should have 10+ years of heavy equipment field service experience and proven ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of heavy equipment field service experience.
• Experience with gantry cranes, intermodal equipment, or large material handling systems.
• Strong ability to read and troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Hands-on experience leading equipment erection and assembly projects from start to finish.
• Comfortable serving as the technical lead on customer job sites with minimal training.
• Will travel 80–90% (approximately 325 days per year).

This isn't a shop position—it's an opportunity to work on the massive machines that keep ports, rail yards, and the global supply chain moving.

What we're looking for:

• 10+ years of heavy equipment field service experience
