Job summary

Alpine Springs Addiction Treatment in Linesville, PA, is hiring a Lead Counselor for full-time clinical services to clients and families. The role supports the Counseling department and works under PA health regulations.

The candidate will supervise, mentor staff, and deliver individual/group counseling and family sessions, while ensuring confidentiality and quality care. Flexible hours and a 24/7 operation are expected in this vital residential program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or related field.
  • One year of full-time work experience (or 4,000 part-time hours) delivering substance abuse treatment services.
  • Compliance with PA Health Department and DDAP rules and regulations.
  • One to two years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation: progress notes, Biopsychosocial, D/C summary, Continuing Care Plan.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.
  • Knowledge of DDAP regulations, Carelon and CCВН.
  • Knowledge of utilization reviews.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but will train).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, listening, writing, attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Facility is open 24/7; flexibility required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision assistance to Counseling department.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to clients.
  • Provide chemical dependency family counseling to clients and families.

  • Contribute to DDAP standard implementation and maintenance.
  • Train and develop current and new counselors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Alpine Springs Addiction Treatment is a drug and alcohol treatment center located in Linesville, PA (Withdrawal Management/ Detox & Clinically Managed Residential), that offers individualized treatment using evidence-based practices to those struggling with addiction to leave our facility with the coping skills and knowledge to live a better, healthier lifestyle. The facility is open 24/7.

Position’s Scope

The Lead Counselor provides chemical dependency clinical services of Alpine Springs Linesville, LLC, to clients and their families consistent with the Alpine Springs Linesville, LLC, policies and procedures, and the PA Health Department. Also, assists Clinical Supervisor with Counseling department.


Responsibilities


  • Document a complete assessment, individual treatment plan, progress notes, transition plan and discharge summary for each client according to Alpine Springs Linesville, LLC policies and procedures, and the PA Department of Health Drug & Alcohol Licensing laws and regulations.

  • Provide assistance with supervision to Counseling department.

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to clients.

  • Provide chemical dependency family counseling services to clients and family members.

  • Ensure client confidentiality at all times.

  • Participates in the implementation and maintenance of the DDAP standards.

  • Trains and develops both current and new counselors.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Competencies


  • Ability to conduct the twelve core functions of a counselor.

  • Skilled in individual and family counseling and facilitate groups.

  • Ability to complete an initial and ongoing assessment of clients.

  • Ability to develop a measurable treatment plan.

  • Ability to organize, schedule, and keep accurate records with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to work flexible hours. Knowledge of clinical documentation - progress notes, Biopsychosocial, D/C summary, Continuing Care Plan etc.

  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.


Job Type

Full-Time (40 hours per week).


Pay Range

$22.00-$25.00/Hourly; DOE.


Weekly Work Schedule


  • Generally, this position is day shift hours, Mon-Fri from 9AM-5PM.

  • May need to work shift work each week.

  • This position will be required to work evenings and weekends on occasion to aid in covering the hours of the company, must be flexible.

  • Linesville facility (Clinically Managed Residential and Withdrawal Management/Detox).


Qualifications and Requirements


  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or other related fields.

  • One year of full-time work experience (or 4,000 part-time hours) delivering substance abuse treatment services.

  • Education and experience will be in compliance with the PA department of Health Rules and Regulations Chapter 704.7.

  • At least one to two years’ supervisory experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of clinical documentation; progress notes, Biopsychosocial, D/C summary, Continuing Care Plan, etc.

  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.

  • Knowledge of DDAP regulations, Carelon and CCВН.

  • Knowledge of utilization reviews.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but will train).

  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite or related software).

  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent multi-tasking, listening, writing, attention to detail and organization skills.
