Base pay range

$198,000.00/yr - $266,000.00/yr

Meta seeks a highly motivated, curious, adaptive team player to serve as Lead Counsel, Monetization (Ads) for Meta. This role is dedicated to providing strategic legal advice to internal product and business teams, primarily concerning data use for ads, consent, and user interfaces related to ads. The role involves applying complex, evolving legal frameworks to new and innovative products and services. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team, learn about new technologies, and work on novel issues in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze global products, features, and initiatives, providing legal risk mitigation strategies across jurisdictions.
  2. Advise product, engineering, and business teams on legal matters including consumer protection, data protection laws, and other global legal frameworks.
  3. Drive high-profile projects involving legal analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across Meta’s teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)
  • Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility for registered in-house counsel status if required by the State Bar
  • 5+ years of legal experience, including at law firms, in-house, or government roles
  • Business judgment and client counseling skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience with legal areas such as product or regulatory counseling, privacy, or data protection

  • Experience working independently and cross-functionally
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills

Compensation:
