Job summary

Oregon Department of Corrections at Warner Creek Correctional Facility in Lakeview, OR seeks an Internal only Work out of Class Correctional Corporal to support daily operations, maintain security, and supervise adults in custody.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a correctional security setting with primary duties involving care and custody of inmates.
• Ability to obtain within two weeks a DPSST Correctional Certificate or equivalent from another government agency.
• Possess a High School Diploma or GED; be 21 years of age or older; United States Citizen.
• Special Qualification: ability to obtain a valid Oregon motor vehicle operator's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, security, and orderly operation of the facility.
• Provide frontline leadership and staff direction.
• Supervise Adults in Custody (AICs) and reinforce policy compliance.
• Mentor developing staff and uphold safety, integrity, and rehabilitation goals.
• Demonstrate sound judgment and effective communication in high-stress situations.
