Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Senior Correctional Officer to oversee shift supervision of officers and inmates in a secure correctional facility. You will help protect inmate rights while ensuring safety and order, under facility and corporate policy.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years in criminal justice with supervisory exposure, and completion of pre-service training; a state security license is preferred and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
• Two years experience in a criminal justice field, preferably with one year in a supervisory capacity.
• Completion of basic pre-service officer training and, where applicable, a non-commissioned security officer license.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide general supervision of Correctional Officers and inmates on the shift.
• Conduct inspections of housing and general use areas to ensure standards and guidelines are maintained.
• Assist in supervising the internal and external security of the facility; inspect posts to observe alertness and ensure security.
