Wexford Health Sources in Julian, West Virginia, is seeking a part-time Dentist to lead the dental team at the Donald R. Kuhn Juvenile Center.

Under the supervision of the Regional Dental Director, you will supervise staff and manage dental activity while delivering oral health care to inmates, including fillings, extractions, dentures, root canals, and related procedures. The role emphasizes compliance with policy and program development and requires maintaining up-to-date licenses.

Competenze

• Current West Virginia Dental license.
• Current DEA license.
• DDS or DMD degree.
• Minimum one year practicing dentistry.
• Correctional experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Provides overall supervision of the dental department including hiring, coaching, counseling, administering discipline and termination of subordinate staff as needed.
• Provides preventative and restorative treatment to all inmates.
• Performs and interprets radiographic examinations as indicated.
• Performs all general dentistry services including restorative, surgical, periodontal, endodontic and prosthodontic services.
• Supervise staff in: cleaning of teeth, taking impressions for prosthetic devices, planning and maintaining an oral hygiene program, completing records accurately.
• Arrange proper referral for procedures not performed on-site.
• Provides supervision of staff in instruction of offenders in preventative practices for maintaining proper oral hygiene.
• Submit monthly report of Dental Department activities.
• Develop and update departmental policies and procedures.
• Supervise and evaluate all assigned dental staff.
