Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice, NE, is looking for a full-time cook to run daily food preparation and lead cooks across the facility. Prepare and portion meals for patients, staff and visitors while meeting menus, dietary requirements and safety standards.

You will ensure sanitation, proper labeling, and equipment operation. Strong teamwork and the ability to work in a dynamic culinary environment are essential, with on-the-job training provided and Serv Safe considerations as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to perform basic math. Depending upon location applying for, a minimum of two years experience and previous leadership experience preferred.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Serv Safe may be required to obtain within a designated time frame.

Responsibilities

• Lead food preparation and direct cooks in daily operations.
• Prepare, cook, season, and portion meals for patients/residents, staff, and visitors.
• Ensure meals meet menu, dietary requirements, appearance, taste, and sanitation standards.
• Maintain labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication with internal customers.
