Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living in New York is seeking a Lead Cook to coordinate daily food production, ensuring meals meet quality, portion, and service standards. You will guide kitchen operations to deliver safe, consistent dining experiences in a mission-driven environment.

You will oversee daily shift supervision when needed, enforce food safety and proper portioning, and maintain logs and regulatory compliance to support a high-quality resident dining program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate meals using standardized recipes and posted menus
• Support daily shift supervision in absence of Executive Chef or Dining Service Coordinator
• Ensure proper portioning, plate presentation, and dietary modifications
• Maintain accurate production sheets and temperature logs
• Monitor food storage, rotation (FIFO), and inventory controls
• Enforce food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards
• Maintain clean, organized kitchen and work areas
• Support compliance with federal and state regulations
