Job Description

The Lead Cook is responsible for preparing food using standard recipes and production guidelines, adhering to food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures. The role involves safely handling knives and kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and broilers. The Lead Cook may supervise staff and delegate tasks, with responsibilities varying based on location and business needs.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Schedule and assign daily tasks to staff, supervising task completion.
  2. Train staff on job duties, food safety, sanitation, and cooking techniques.
  3. Prepare food following recipes and production guidelines.
  4. Set up workstations with ingredients and equipment.
  5. Measure, chop, and prepare ingredients.
  6. Handle food utensils safely, including knives.
  7. Operate kitchen equipment like ovens, stoves, and mixers.
  8. Cook using various methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming.
  9. Garnish and portion food according to guidelines.
  10. Store food properly following safety policies.
  11. Clean and sanitize work areas and utensils.
  12. Maintain excellent customer service and positive attitude.
  13. Follow safety policies, including food safety and sanitation.
  14. Ensure the security of company assets.
  15. Maintain work schedules and production records as needed.

Qualifications
