Job summary

Tigg's Canteen Services Inc is hiring a Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook for Jackson County Jail in Jackson, MI. The role focuses on leading daily meal preparation and ensuring meals are prepared safely and to recipe standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and can work in a structured correctional environment. We offer training and opportunities to grow within the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a structured correctional environment.
• Must be approved for clearance into the facility.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts between 7:00 AM-6:00 PM.
• Previous food service or kitchen experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person!

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with daily meal preparation
• Prepare, bake, and cook meals according to company recipes
• Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen
• Lead and instruct other kitchen staff
• Follow company policies and facility procedures
