Spring Gardens Assisted Living in Meridian, ID, is seeking two lead cooks to oversee food preparation and station upkeep in our dining service team.

Candidate will ensure hygienic handling, quality control, and timely meal production, while collaborating with the dining director to create appealing meals and seasonal menus. Healthcare experience preferred, and high standards for safety and presentation are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of cooking experience in a fine dining establishment.
• Elder care industry experience strongly preferred.
• Current Food Handlers Card.
• Must be in good physical health.
• Must test free from pulmonary tuberculosis at health screening annually.
• Dependable transportation and ability to work varying hours.
• Hotel/Hospitality experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Supports the philosophy, mission, values of the community.
• Checks menu item ingredients for quality, wholesomeness, and quantity.
• Prepares meals and snacks.
• Utilizes sound food handling practices for storage and preparation of each menu item.
• Maintains a clean as you go work environment.
• Reports equipment maintenance concerns and follows up when equipment has not been repaired.
• Coordinates the next day’s food production needs including thawing frozen items.
• Works with management to plan special theme/holiday occasions.
• Provides top quality food presentation as directed by the Director of Dining Services.
• Completes temperature and meal record logs and participates in taste testing.
