Beaven Kelly Home in Holyoke, MA, is seeking a skilled Lead Cook for a part-time 12-hour day shift. You will prepare, season, and cook meals for residents, supervise other cooks, maintain recipes, and assist the Food Service Director with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities include ensuring food quality and sanitation, complying with regulations, managing daily kitchen operations, receiving orders, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Up to 1 year of technical training in cooking techniques and 1–2 years of related work experience.
• ServSafe Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily performance of cooks, promoting food quality, presentation, and sanitation.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Assist the Food Service Director in administrative tasks when needed.
• Receive orders and obtain necessary food items; prepare and mix ingredients for meals.
• Cook regular and diet menu items according to recipes.
• Inspect and taste food for seasoning, quality, and temperature.
• Maintain timely preparation of menu items and adjust production accordingly.
• Operate kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, toasters, fryers, mixers, blenders).
• Maintain records of food supplies and ingredients used.
• Transport and store food, keeping work areas clean.
