Job summary

Children’s Home & Aid in Englewood, CO is seeking a Cook to join Mitzi Freidheim Englewood Child & Family's Center. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children and adults, handle dishwashing, light kitchen maintenance, and help ensure smooth, safe operations daily.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of cooking experience, understanding of nutritional needs, a physical exam, and Food Sanitation Certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with basic reading, writing and budgeting.
• One year of quantitative cooking experience.
• Understanding of the nutritional needs of children and adults.
• Annual physical examination and good physical health.
• Completion and maintenance of Food Sanitation Certification.

Responsibilities

• Purchases perishable foods daily and buys fresh fruit weekly.
• Plans and posts menus in advance, in consultation with parents and staff.
• Sets out dishes and serves food; supervises kitchen maintenance.
• Interviews and supervises other kitchen staff as required.
• Prepares and cooks daily meals and snacks.
• Purchases and stores groceries and keeps within budget.
• Shares information regarding kitchen operations.
