Description

The Bungalows at Springdale is seeking a Lead Cook to join their team! The Cook reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director.

Shift Details

5 days on, 2 days off. Days and hours vary; may have to work 12-hour shifts.

Purpose

The Lead Cook is responsible for all food preparation to ensure food meets quality, quantity, and service standards. Manages all food production in the absence of the Lead Cook or Food and Beverage Director, handles foods in accordance with sanitary procedures, and complies with all regulatory standards.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitation, keep accurate records, manage inventory, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Follow posted menus and approved recipes, prepare special dietary and texture-modified foods as directed.
  • Organize work to meet production and service requirements.
  • Monitor food quality, taste, and temperature, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions and operate dishwashing equipment according to standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Culinary training preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in food preparation, menu items, and therapeutic diets.
  • Current SERV Safe certification or ability to obtain it.
