Job summary

The Westin Desert Willow Villas, Palm Desert is seeking a kitchen team member to prepare meals, supervise portion control, and assist with daily operations in a high-volume environment.

You will regulate ovens and equipment, thaw ingredients safely, and maintain accurate food logs while supporting a positive guest experience and teamwork across the kitchen staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen or food service environment.
• Ability to follow recipes and presentation standards.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare special meals and substitute items per recipes.
• Regulate oven temperatures and equipment to spec.
• Pull and thaw frozen items as needed.
• Maintain and log food quality and portions.
• Communicate needs to team during busy periods.
• Assist in training and coaching staff when required.
• Follow safety policies and keep a clean, organized station.

Hourly Rate: $25.70JOB SUMMARYPrepare special meals or substitute items. Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator. Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish. Maintain food logs. Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared. Communicate assistance needed during busy periods. Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials. Inform F-B service staff of 86'ed items and available menu specials. Ensure the quality of the food items. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold foods.
