Cedar Creek Hospital of Michigan is a beautiful and state of the art 65-bed facility. Cedar Creek provides evidence-based treatment to adolescents and adults struggling with mental health issues. Cedar Creek Hospital invests in our patients by offering an integrated medicine approach that provides the latest therapies including yoga, mindfulness, aromatherapy, music therapy and nutrition. As part of our success and innovation in the field we are seeking qualified applicants for a Lead Cook position.

Position Description

The Lead Cook is responsible for safely preparing, cooking, and presenting meals according to hospital recipes and menus for patients, staff, and visitors. The Lead Cook will train new staff and provide guidance and assistance for existing staff regarding kitchen operations. This position backs up the Manager of Dietary/Food Services in their absence.

Position Requirements

  • Experience as a cook in an institutional setting is preferred.
  • Must be comfortable with scratch cooking, including fresh ingredients, and attention to detail and quality.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in order to operate food service equipment and follow direction
  • Must be able to complete assigned tasks in order to provide an efficient, safe, sanitary, attractive and orderly facility.
