Job summary

Sylvan, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for its Conveyor Division in the United States. You will oversee all engineering and technical aspects of assigned conveyor projects, leading a team of engineers and designers to ensure accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery.

You will perform conveyor design, layout, and detailing per customer scope, while coordinating with project managers and superintendents. Occasional travel to sites in the USA, Canada, and Mexico will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 10+ years automotive conveyor work experience.
• Experience supervising engineers and designers on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of automotive conveyor systems (Power & Free, Skid conveyors).
• Ability to manage schedules, tasking, and field coordination with project teams.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor; capable of generating layouts and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of engineers and designers with daily tasks and assignments.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and motivate the team to meet dates.
• Provide on-site installation and start-up support; coordinate field checks.
• Prepare and review drawings, ABMs, and change orders; assist purchasing and shop.
• Travel to sites in the USA, Canada, and Mexico for meetings and field support.
• Lead engineering calculations for drives, shafts, bearings, and related components.
• Provide technical input for drawing development and project submittals.
• Collaborate with project manager and superintendent to ensure safety and quality.
