Job Summary: The Lead Controls Specialist will be responsible for integrating controls or control systems into existing or new compressed air system customers. They will collaborate with the ACF Sales and Service teams from design to implementation and work with customers during installation and startup.
Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform mechanical, electrical troubleshooting and repair of compressed air system controls.
- Provide emergency and scheduled repairs, including after-hours and holiday work.
- Install and commission system controls.
- Work with controllers for IR and competitive product lines.
- Interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders for maintenance and repair.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations and system evaluations.
- Assist the Sales team during the sales process.
- Utilize hand/power tools, meters, and material handling equipment.
- Report faulty operations or materials promptly.
- Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean work area.
- Travel to job sites, with overnight travel as needed.
Additional Job Functions:
- Use of winch, pulley, hoist, and A-frames.
- Download/upload programs into controllers.
- Training on controllers, preventive maintenance, and teardown.
Required Experience and Skills
- Knowledge of compressed air and control systems, including mechanical operation and hazards.
- Ability to interpret schematics and manuals.
- Basic math skills.
- Safety awareness and PPE use, including NFPA 70E.
- Mechanical tool proficiency.
- Ability to work in outdoor and non-climate-controlled environments.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs.), and perform repetitive motions.
- Effective communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 5-7 years of related experience or training.
- Valid Motor Vehicle Record.
