Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering (WM) is seeking a Controls Engineer in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role designs and implements control systems, from PLC programming to instrumentation and start-up support.

You will lead projects, develop schematics and operation sequences, and mentor junior engineers while traveling up to 50% to customer sites and supporting multiple industries including manufacturing and data center building automation.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 3–5 years in control systems, instrumentation, and PLCs.
• Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and implements control systems to meet process requirements.
• Develops schematics detailing control system configuration and wiring; designs panel layouts in AutoCAD.
• Writes operation sequences and leads design reviews with customers.
• Works at customer sites to perform system checkout and start-up.
• Provides system training and supports project management on smaller projects.
