PDS Tech Commercial is actively seeking a Lead Controls Engineer to advance modernization across a major Holcomb, KS manufacturing site. You will drive controls strategy, lead automation initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and performance of mission-critical production systems.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, PLC/SCADA administration (Schneider Electric/Modicon), and ongoing improvement of plant-floor technologies in a 100% onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in Information Systems, Controls Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
• Strong background supporting both modern and legacy control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support automation, controls, and Information Systems initiatives across manufacturing operations.
• Troubleshoot and optimize PLC-based control systems, SCADA platforms, HMIs, and industrial network communications.
• Program, commission, modify, and maintain PLC systems, with a strong focus on Schneider Electric/Modicon environments.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues involving conveyors, drives, motors, sensors, scanners, and automated material handling systems.
• Support plant-floor automation equipment while minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
