Job summary

Carrier's Automated Logic division in Richardson, TX seeks a Lead Controls Engineer to design and program advanced building automation systems for site-specific projects. You will lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with sales and engineering teams to meet customer requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with 4+ years in building automation or HVAC, or equivalent experience, and travel up to 50% onsite.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years building automation/HVAC experience OR Associate Degree with 6+ years OR HS diploma with 8+ years experience.
  • Ability to travel and work onsite at client locations up to 50% of the time.
  • Strong knowledge of building automation software, hardware, and integration protocols.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who works well in a team and has excellent problem-solving, time management, and multi-tasking skills. You will work on solving complex problems and lead smaller projects with less experienced engineers to help develop their skills.**Key Responsibilities:*** Design and program increasingly advanced building automation systems, site-specific configuration of control system, and control algorithms.* Adhere to project requirements and company and customer standards of design, programming, and implementation.* Create a clear design document for project teams with technical information.* Document and communicate the building automation system design and revisions.* Develop graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems.* Test programming and interfaces prior to implantation.* Provide technical support to sales representatives to ensure customers’ needs are met.* Identify and communicate project opportunities and risks.* Support of functional testing for complex building systems.**Required Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of building automation/ HVAC experience OR Associate Degree with 6+ years of building automation/ HVAC experience OR High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of building automation/ HVAC experience.* Ability to travel and work onsite at a Hubbard, TX client location 50% of the time.**Preferred Qualifications:*** Advanced degree in an Engineering or Construction discipline.* Experience in HVAC controls, Building Automation, or related industry.* Proficient with primary functions of building automation system software and associated engineering tools, Automated Logic suites preferred.* Strong working knowledge of complex Automated Logic software, hardware, peripherals, add-ons, and services.* Proficient with third-party communication protocols used in building automation, such as BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2, etc.* Understanding with Enterprise IP networks and Microsoft Visio, or similar software.* Proficient with written sequences of operations, diagrammatic depictions of systems.* Able to translate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.* Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.**Pay Range**The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually.
