State Employees' Credit Union seeks a Lead Consumer Loan Product and Strategy Specialist to oversee the Consumer Loan Product and Strategy department. Position Overview: The Lead Consumer Loan Product and Strategy Specialist serves as the operational leader of the Consumer Loan Product and Strategy department, providing day-to-day oversight of departmental activities while partnering closely with the Vice President of the department to execute the Credit Union’s consumer lending strategy. The position is responsible for analyzing consumer loan products and portfolio performance, identifying opportunities for loan growth, improving lending processes, and supporting strategic initiatives that enhance the member lending experience. The Lead Specialist serves as a subject matter expert for consumer lending products, facilitates collaboration across departments and plays a key role in evaluating and implementing new lending products, services and technologies.
4-year degree, CCUE Certification, or Associate in Arts degree or Associate in Science degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP).
Seven years of consumer lending experience.
Highest level of integrity and objectivity.
Strong problem-solving skills and be able to think critically and strategically.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English , with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, including branch and operations staff, members, and senior leadership.
Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
Strong initiative to learn new tasks.
In-depth understanding of consumer and credit card lending, including processes, procedures and tasks.
Working knowledge of consumer lending regulations (e.g. MLA, TILA, ECOA) and compliance requirements.
Must be a team player and exemplify a helpful attitude to provide assistance to others as needed.
High level of technical aptitude.
In depth knowledge of the consumer loan origination and servicing systems is required.
Ability to be a leader with all department procedures and technical expertise.
Willing to engage in ongoing training and professional development.
Ability to adhere to the work schedule and attendance policies established by the Credit Union.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, the Consumer Loan Origination System, and core servicing system.
Minimum of 5-7 years of SECU lending experience.
Hybrid position with on‑site requirements for trainings, meetings and any processing requirements.
In‑office setting has physical proximity to other employees.
Some background noise from other employees, copy machine, and telephone.
Must be able to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions.
Job requires a substantial amount of sitting.
Use hands and fingers to press keys on a computer keyboard to enter or retrieve information.
Use hands and fingers to press telephone keypad and lift telephone receiver.
Must be able to comprehend phone calls.
Must be able to lift 5 pounds.
