Job summary

Lovelytics, a data and AI consultancy, seeks a data engineer to work in a client-facing environment across the US. You will design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines, lead data warehousing projects, and collaborate with engagement leads to craft scalable data solutions. Remote work is supported for US-based candidates.

The role requires 3–5 years in data engineering with hands-on experience with clients, and a strong background in data warehousing concepts and Databricks deployments.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years' experience in data engineering and big data, with at least 2 years working directly with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehousing concepts and hands-on experience deploying pipelines using Databricks (A must).
  • Data modeling and database design skills and knowledge of version control.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize consulting and technical skills to work in a client-facing project environment independently.
  • Lead individual work streams on client engagements under supervision of engagement lead.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver on projects.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and client/partner teams.
  • Develop ownership of execution on client engagements, including project planning and solution stages.
  • Design and implement complex ETL/ELT pipelines with improved data processing times.
  • Lead small data warehousing projects with measurable performance enhancements.
  • Contribute to real-time data processing solutions and managed streaming data.
  • Implement security and compliance measures for data pipelines.
  • Design and implement version control and CI/CD strategies for higher environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Utilize consulting and technical skills to be able to work in a client-facing project environment independently.
  • Be responsible for your ownexecution and sometimes lead individual work streams on client engagements as assigned and under supervision of engagement lead.
  • Collaborate with other team members to successfully deliver on projects.
  • Work effectively and directly communicate with both internal and client and/or partner teams.
  • Develop full ownership of your execution on client engagements, you'll become involved in the project planning and solution stages of engagements as well.
  • Designand implementcomplex ETL/ELT pipelines with evidence of improved data processing times.
  • Successfully lead small data warehousing projects with measurable performance enhancements under the management of an engagement lead.
  • Contributeto real-time data processing solutions and managed streaming data.
  • Implementsecurity and compliance measures for data pipelines.
  • Designand implementversion control and branching strategies andintegratethem into CI/CD for promoting and testing in higherenvironments.

Our Ideal Candidate's Skills and Experiences:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 3-5 years' experiencein data engineering and big data. At least 2 yearsworking directly with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Extensiveknowledge of data warehousing concepts andhands-on experience deploying pipelines using Databricks **A must

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Is able to apply technical skills to engagement needs
  • Works with engagement leads and directors to gain exposure in the design and architecture of solutions
  • Understands and utilizes Lovelytics tools and client tools

The base salary range for this position for candidates based in the US is$120,000-150,000 per year. Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, scope of role and budget. Candidates are not guaranteed to be placed at any particular point within the range, and most offers will fall within the middle of the range or below. Lovelytics is committed to pay equity and transparency in compensation practices.
