Job summary

Revolution Workshop in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced tradesperson to lead our 12-week pre-apprenticeship construction training program. You will train trainees in the basics of construction, deliver hands-on lab sessions, and guide NCCER Core Certification coursework within a trauma‑informed coaching framework.

This full‑time role requires managing a crew of 25+ trainees, coordinating safety, workflow, and project tasks, and fostering growth in both technical and soft skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience; journey-level carpentry preferred.
• Proficient with Google G Suite, Microsoft Office, Excel; able to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement all technical aspects of Revolution Workshop’s Pre-apprenticeship Construction Training Program.
• Provide hands-on experience and lab training for NCCER Core Certification modules.
• Lead a crew of 25+ trainees; manage safety, workflow and project tasks.
• Assess trainee progress and document performance; hold trainees accountable to goals.
• Engage with nonprofit partners and employer partners to inform the community about RW's programming.
• Participate in weekly trainee meetings and maintain a safe shop environment.
