Job summary

Fessler & Bowman, Inc. seeks a Safety Manager 1 to lead safety efforts across multiple projects. You will guide project teams to achieve compliance with industry, local, state, and federal standards while advancing a proactive safety culture on site.

The role requires 6–8 years in safety-focused project management, experience with JHA/Pre-Task planning, and OSHA certifications. Travel is required to support field sites and the company’s safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 6-8 years of large-scale commercial, or industrial project management experience, including at least 4 years of management level safety professional experience.
• Experience developing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Pre-Task Plans for construction sites.
• OSHA 500 and OSHA 510 certifications are preferred/required.
• Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of safety for the designated region, including the management of direct reports.
• Provides project management teams with guidance on health and safety and confirms compliance with guidelines and regulations.
• Provides technical support to project managers.
• Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices, and submittals.
• Reports the status of projects to the Project Management team.
• Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities and correspondence.
• Develops site-specific safety plans for project needs and requirements.
• Ensures workers adhere to safety requirements and conducts incident investigations.
